GACTE at AACTE’s 2018 Washington Week

During the week in Washington, Drs. Chance and Greer conducted 4 workshops about GACTE’s collaborative work, met with the staff of 6 legislators, and met with 2 representatives at an after-session reception.

Education Student Ambassadors from Georgia Colleges and Universities Attend 2018 Day on Capitol Hill

Teacher education candidates from Georgia institutions served as GACTE Ambassadors at the 2018 Day on Capitol Hill hosted by PAGE, the Georgia Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (GACTE), and the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL).

The focus for this year’s event was Georgia’s teacher education pipeline and how to increase the supply of high quality, well-prepared teachers for today’s classrooms.

GACTE Ambassadors included Kia Shield and Hannah Adams (Brenau University), Amber Marcus and William Chandler (Columbus State University), Kara Headrick and Silvia Ortiz (Dalton State College), Shakeerryah Barrett and Enya Moore (Fort Valley State University), Emily Arnold and Anna Morman (LaGrange College), Nicquala Shields and Miranda Williams (Savannah State University), and Amanda (Mandy) Thomas and Kaila Reece (Young Harris College).
